Gosh, I have been so busy lately doing over time at work! Two ceremonies and one Professorship of Poetry election later and I am enjoying my long weekend.
Yesterday was glorious here in Oxford, one of my best friends from uni came over with his very lovely girlfriend and we had a nice BBQ in the back garden under the beautiful sunshine. We put the futon outside and listened to the radio while cooking sausages, steaks, burgers and chicken drum sticks all in gorgeous Ainsley Harriott BBQ sauce, yum! For dessert was my speciality….BBQ-ed bananas sliced with chocolate buttons inside! I love spending time with uni mates, we were so close during the 3 years we were at Reading uni, and I miss them so much, I don’t think it will be long before the next BBQ! It was just lovely to sit on the lawn with the birds visiting the feeders, our presence did not seem to bother them in the slightest.
In other news, we have our Global Gathering tickets, woop woop! I can not wait for GG, it’s going to be an amazing festival, and I love roughing it in a tent. I intend to consume many an illegal substance and have a damn good time in my floral wellies! What festivals are you guys attending this year?
Oh, It’s that time again….’Spring Watch’ is back on the telly and I loved the first episode, thank the gods that Bill Oddie is gone, he pissed me off sooooo much! Chris Packham is a genius when it comes to his knowledge of British wildlife. I’m having a day off today so have been watching the webcams, the robin chicks are so tiny and cute! This is the first year that I have had a garden of my own with nests and chicks. I saw my starling chicks out on the lawn for the first time earlier this week, scurrying around with their mum and dad. Isn't mother nature wonderful!
